These notes from week 2 are so simple they look like they were done years ago (by a 6 year-old) instead of months ago, yet they look more spontaneous than some of what I’m doing now. I need to do notes like these more often…

WEEK 2: Aug 19 – Aug 23, 2013

This one was a favorite as soon as I finished it. The Penguin’s goofy proportions, tiny umbrella and the little rain drops crack me up. And I got to use my purple Sharpie!

Yes, Clown Day was an actual thing! Take a gander at the clown costume I made for my own little Joker.

This one makes me think of my friends Heather and Omar, who named their daughter Helena Kara (after The Huntress and Supergirl, respectively). I was always a bit jealous we couldn’t name our son Arthur Garth, but piling that on top of being adopted and having 2 dads would’ve bordered on child abuse.
Batman (symbol): 8.23.13
This was the day after they announced Ben Affleck would play Batman in the next Superman movie. I imagine JJ’s teacher saw this and wondered what the hell “#BATTFLECK” meant.
